Midnight City

So if you haven’t heard of M83 by now I’m just going to assume you’re irrelevant and that nobody loves you. Fortunate for you, this blog aims to make you feel relevant because isn’t that what life is all about? Probably not.
Anyway M83 is just all sorts of awesome, must be the fact that they combine two of my favorite genres indie and electropop. Their “Midnight City” has made quite the hit on the blogsphere, and it inspired the likes of The Knocks and Mandy Lee to forge their own version of the song that even the universe can be proud (btw universe I said I was sorry forgive me already). The two musical powers create a vortex of euphoria that gives the original version a run for its money. Either way check out M83’s version, its so so good.

High for this - Ellie Goulding (The Weeknd Cover)

So by popular demand I decided to start posting here again (by popular demand I mean all 3 of my readers). I’ve acquired quite the collection of music since my leave, most of which I haven’t really bothered to share with anyone. So here we go, again… you don’t know what’s in store.
The first time I talked about my beloved Ellie Goulding was when she was still unknown to most of the lamestreamers, but now a days shes hitting it big. Which is kind of a bummer, the music market has been focusing so much on her hit singles that we haven’t really heard anything new come out of those sweet sweet vocal cords of hers. Just the other day though I stumbled on this little cover she made from the The Weeknd’s “High for This”. From the moment I pressed play my body melted into a puddle of joy. I’m not going to ramble about it though, just listen in for yourself and experience it.

(oh and Ellie if you’re reading this by some fateful chance call me maybe?)
Live My Life Without Coming Up for Air

This track by Walk The Moon gets me all reminiscent about the summer days. “Anna Sun” is just one of those feel good tunes that can lighten up just about anyone’s moon. I’m sure you hipsters will love this track, so rather than ramble on about my life I’ll just leave it at that.
Why Even Try?

Fall semester is finally starting to kick in, and I’m just about getting wrecked with all kinds of school work and stress. Things are looking pretty rough now, but I’ve got some great tracks that are sure to lighten up anyone’s day (especially mine). Now generally I’m not the type of person that is attracted to hip-hip or rap, but Theophilus London is just one of those people that can appeal to just about everyone. The kids got some great diversity, and versatility in his music which is a nice. Check it.

Behave Yourself

Not sure what it is but when ever someone brings up Deadmau5 I end up listening to a dozen tracks out of temptation. I’m not complaining though, everyone’s favorite mau5 is always bringing the goods to the table, from electro pop, progressive sounds and house music hes got it all. The track I have for you today features Neon Hitch. A rather stunning singer hailing from London. Her seductive in combination with the awesome that is Deadmau5 make for one feel good track!
HAVE A HEART

I have been quite attached to my ipod lately, and in fact it has gotten to the point of ignoring my friends and loved ones for more alone time with my precious music. So many good tracks have been falling on my doorstep this week for my ears to have sex with with. Rather than just tell you about it though, why don’t I show you? One of the many tracks that has contributed to my anti-social behavior is none other than “Rill Rill” by Sleigh Bells. Now I know what you’re thinking, who?!? Well turns out they’re an up and coming pop duo based in Brooklyn, and they’re quite talented to say the least. Don’t take my word for it? Take a listen!
Afrojack Vs. Adele

It’s been quite some time since I posted a Mashup on this little blog of mine, and although I admit they aren’t usually all the great DEFEP has manged to combine the likes of Afrojack and Adele into one killer track. Somehow the groovy vocals of Adele and the filthy beats that Afrojack dishes out form a symbiotic relationship making for one very dance worthy track. If you don’t take my word for it check it out!
Afrojack VS Adele - Rolling it Right (DEFEP Bootleg)
Will be posting some more electro and Indie in the days to come so stay tuned!
